ZheBus (“we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your information when you use our iOS app ZheBus (the “App”).

1. Information we collect

Location information

• Current location. We use your device's location to show nearby bus stops and provide location-based services.
• Usage. Location data is used locally on your device to centre the map and find nearby bus stops.
• Storage. Location data is not stored on our servers.

App usage data

• Bus stop bookmarks. Your saved bus stops and preferences are stored locally on your device.
• App preferences. Settings such as the last viewed page are stored locally.
• Search history. Search queries are processed locally and not sent to our servers.

Technical information

• Device information. iOS version and device type, for app compatibility.
• App performance. Crash reports and performance data, to improve the App.
• Network requests. API calls to Singapore's LTA DataMall for bus arrival data.

2. How we use your information

Core functionality

• Display nearby bus stops based on your location
• Provide real-time bus arrival information
• Save and organise your regular bus routes
• Improve map accuracy and user experience

Service improvement

• Analyse app usage patterns to improve features
• Debug technical issues and crashes
• Optimise app performance and reliability

3. Data sharing and third parties

Land Transport Authority (LTA)

• We retrieve public bus stop and arrival data from the LTA DataMall API.
• No personal information is shared with LTA. Only bus stop codes are sent to retrieve arrival times.

Apple

• Location services are processed through Apple's Core Location framework.
• Map data is provided through Apple Maps.
• App analytics may be shared with Apple as per standard iOS practice.

Advertising partners

• Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers.
• You can opt out of personalised ads in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising.

4. Data storage and security

• Bookmarks and preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage.
• Location data is processed in real time and not permanently stored.
• All API communication uses HTTPS encryption.
• No sensitive personal information is collected or stored.

5. Your privacy rights

• Location access. Turn off location in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services. Bus stop search still works without it.
• Data deletion. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
• Preferences. You can clear bookmarks within the App.
• Advertising. Control advertising preferences in iOS Settings.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date and, if required, through the App Store.
