Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
Multiply does not collect, store or share your child's personal data. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of its own. Handwriting is read on the device.
This policy explains what information the iOS and iPadOS app Multiply (the “App”) uses, and how. The App is a times tables game for children, played by writing answers by hand.
1. Information we use
Handwriting
- Purpose. What your child writes on the answer pad is read by Apple's on-device handwriting recognition to check the answer.
- What is kept. Nothing. The writing is cleared after each question, and is never saved or sent off the device.
Game progress
- Scores. Best scores and times, and the last 5 Time Trial runs.
- Learning. Which multiplication facts are known and which are tricky, so the App can offer extra practice.
- Versus player names. The names typed in for Versus players. We suggest first names or nicknames.
- Settings. Whether music and sound effects are on.
Purchases
Whether the one-time unlock has been bought. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; the App never sees your payment details.
What we do not collect
- No name, email, phone number, age or account details
- No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or other personal content
- No advertising identifiers, analytics or tracking of any kind
- No crash or usage data sent to us or to third-party SDKs
2. How we use it
Everything above is used for one purpose: running the game.
- Check answers and keep score
- Show best scores and earned stars
- Spot tricky facts and offer practice on them
- Show player names in Versus
- Unlock the features your family has paid for
We do not use any information to profile your child, show ads or track anyone across apps or websites.
3. Third parties
We do not sell, rent or share any information about you or your child. The App makes no network requests of its own. It uses only these Apple services.
iCloud
If the device is signed in to iCloud, game progress and Versus player names sync across your own devices through iCloud key-value storage. This data is stored in your iCloud account, which we cannot access, and is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Game Center
Game Center is optional. The App never shows a sign-in prompt; it uses Game Center only if the device is already signed in. When it is, full-table scores are sent to Game Center leaderboards and achievements are recorded, under the player's Game Center name. Game Center is run by Apple; you can sign out or change its privacy settings in Settings › Game Center.
App Store
The one-time unlock is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the App whether the unlock has been bought. Family Sharing is handled by Apple.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymised crash reports with us. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
4. Storage and security
- Game progress and settings are stored on the device, with a copy in your iCloud account if iCloud is on.
- We run no servers, so nothing is uploaded to us.
- Deleting the App removes everything it stored on that device.
5. Your choices
- iCloud sync. Turn it off for the App in Settings › [your name] › iCloud. Progress then stays on each device.
- Game Center. Sign in or out in Settings › Game Center. Signed out, nothing is sent to Game Center.
- Player names. Rename Versus players in the App at any time.
- Delete your data. Delete the App from each device. To remove synced data, also delete it from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
6. Children's privacy
The App is made for children. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It has no ads, no third-party analytics, no chat and no links that leave the App.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and note material changes in the App Store release notes.
8. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, contact Multiply App Support.
9. Legal compliance
This policy is written to meet the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, including those for apps made for children, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), where applicable.
By using Multiply, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
